Emergency Assistance

Please Review Before Applying

Kingdom Family Ministry’s Families First Programs provide limited emergency assistance to eligible families experiencing financial hardship.

For our Marriage and Premarital Support Programs, please visit the Marriage Support Program page.

Who We Serve

Kingdom Family Ministry provides emergency assistance to eligible families in Montgomery County and designated areas of North Harris County, including Spring, Humble, and Tomball.

Families First emergency assistance programs serve families with children. To qualify, your household must include at least one child under the age of 18 living in the home.

We are not able to assist single-person households at this time.

What We Provide

  • Utility Assistance: Up to $300 per approved household per calendar year. The utility account must already be in disconnect status to qualify.

  • Grocery Assistance: A $200 H-E-B grocery gift card.

  • Care Crates: Household and personal essentials available to eligible families in Montgomery County. Delivery or pickup arrangements will be provided as applicable.

Please submit one application per assistance request.

Each family may receive one approval per service, per calendar year. For example, a family approved for Utility Assistance may still apply for Grocery Assistance or a Care Crate during the same year.

The annual limit is based on the approval, not the amount received. For example, if you are approved for less than the $300 maximum for Utility Assistance, that approval still counts as your Utility Assistance for the calendar year.

Before You Begin

Please have the following available to upload:

  • A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or state ID

  • Proof of residency, such as a lease agreement or utility bill

  • Proof of household income, if anyone in the household currently receives income

  • If applying for Utility Assistance, your disconnect notice, if available

If required information or documentation is missing, KFM may contact you for additional information. For Utility Assistance, KFM may verify disconnect status directly with the utility provider.

Application Review & Processing Time

Complete applications are generally reviewed within 5 business days. Applicants will receive a response once the review is complete regarding the status of their request.

If assistance is approved, additional time may be required to process payment or assistance. Processing times may vary based on application volume, required documentation, available program funding, and other circumstances.

Application communications will come from support@kingdomfamilyministry.org. Please check your Spam or Junk folder if you do not see our email in your inbox.

A Few Things to Know

We want to support families to the best of our ability. Because funding is limited, KFM has established eligibility requirements and limits on the assistance we can provide. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, and unfortunately, we are not able to approve every request.

The information you provide is used to determine eligibility and administer assistance. Information is shared only with KFM staff and board members involved in the application review and assistance process.

We understand that families staying in shelters may still be facing significant challenges. However, because our assistance is intended to address essential needs that are not currently being met through other resources, families residing in shelters that provide meals and basic necessities are not eligible for Grocery Assistance or Care Crates at this time. This allows us to direct our limited resources to families who may not currently have access to these basic supports.

Non-Discrimination

Kingdom Family Ministry provides assistance without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, or family status.
