Families First Housing Initiative
Housing Stabilization & Rapid Rehousing
In Montgomery County and surrounding areas, families crisis often find themselves in a difficult situation: remain together in unsafe conditions or separate to access shelter services. Kingdom Family Ministry is proud to launch our Families First Housing Initiative, aimed at helping families achieve housing stability and rapid rehousing. Together, we can create a brighter future for families in need.

Our Vision & Plan
Through emergency hotel assistance, move-in support, and short-term rental assistance, we are helping keep parents and children together during times of crisis.
Housing Stabilization & Rapid Rehousing For Families
When families are at risk of losing their housing, or have already lost it, they often don’t need years of assistance. They need immediate help, a safe place to stay, and a clear path back to stability.
Kingdom Family Ministry’s Families First Housing Initiative exists to prevent homelessness whenever possible and respond quickly when it occurs, because too many families in Montgomery County are forced to choose between staying together without stable housing or separating just to access shelter.
Our Goal
To families with children move quickly from crisis to stability, while keeping parents and children together.
Emergency Hotel Assistance
Three to five nights of temporary hotel assistance to provide immediate safety while a long-term housing plan is developed.

-
Security deposits
-
Utility deposits
-
Basic move-in needs
Short-Term Rent Support

Who This Program Serves
KFM's Families First Housing Initiative is designed for:
-
Families with children in Montgomery County and surrounding areas
-
Families who are homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness
-
Families who can become stable with short-term support
-
Families who are willing to work toward a plan for long-term stability
Whenever possible, we are especially committed to helping keep two-parent families together.
Too often, emergency housing options separate fathers from mothers and children. Kingdom Family Ministry believes families should not have to break apart in order to receive help.
Why This Matters
Montgomery County has very limited emergency shelter options for families, especially families with both parents present.
Many families who lose housing are not sleeping on the street. They are living in cars, staying in hotels they cannot afford, moving from couch to couch, or trying to hide their struggle.
Without quick intervention, a temporary crisis can quickly become long-term homelessness.
Rapid rehousing gives families the chance to:
-
Stay together
-
Regain stability quickly
-
Prevent children from entering foster care
-
Maintain employment and school routines
-
Build a stronger future
A Family Stabilized. A Future Restored.

One local family came to KFM after losing their housing just days before the birth of their baby. Because emergency shelter options could not keep the family together, they faced the heartbreaking possibility of separation.
Within 24 hours, KFM and community partners helped secure a home, furnish it, and give the family a fresh start. That family is now together, stable, and moving forward.
This is why our Families First Housing Initiative exists.
